Q: May we enter the Awards as team this year?
A: The Open Group ONLY opens to individual entrant.
Q: May one entrant submit more than one works? May one entrant enter all the three categories of the Open Group?
A: One entrant may submit to all the three categories as many works as they wish.
Q: What requirements on dimension and format the submitted works should merit?
A: Design illustration should be on 2 pieces of A1 size (594mm×841mm) paper, in JPEG (*.jpg) formats, resolution 300 dpi, vertical layout, including subject matter, color effect, basic design appearance dimension, plus a project description in both Chinese and English. Due to all the evaluation processes will be carried out by both Chinese and overseas judges, please attach descriptions in Chinese and English. Personal information of each entrant should NOT be shown on the paper, such as workplace, name (Chinese & English), graphics, figures and anything related to the entrant.
Q: May we submit the works in horizontal layout? Does it have to be one Chinese version plus one English version of layout?
A: Due to arrangements and decoration, all the layouts have to be vertical layout. Layouts of the paper are open to the arrangement by different entrants, not necessarily with Chinese and English layout respectively. The only requirement is to make yourself well understood.
Q: How to submit the works? Entry From along with Works should be submitted at the same time?
A: Please submit works with entry form via email or CD-ROM containing a digital copy of the idea. No modification or adjustment available after the submission.

Q: Who will remain the Intellectual Property Rights of the works?
A: All intellectual property rights remain with the owner of the entry project. The Awards shall only enjoy the right to exhibit, print or publicize the original copy of a work.
Q: Shall I submit any application fees?
A: No application fees required.
Q: Do transportation vehicles qualify the entry of the Awards, for instance, electromobile, dune buggy and sedan?
A: The Awards Open Group is divided into three categories: Electronic information products, Machinery products, and Toy Products. Therefore the abovementioned works don’t belong to these categories. Applicants may consider the design of electronic information products for inner decoration for automobiles or toy products. We can not answer the questions on the details of the works, the way to categorize your application, etc. personally. Please write to us: dgid@163.com.
Q: What do the three product design categories of Open Group consist of?

Electronic information products:
PDA, media terminal product, audio & video equipment, MP3, MP4, digital camera, mobile phone, information transfer device, 3G equipment, distant conference, Demo & conference assistant equipment, wireless communication and locating device, etc.
Machinery products
Machine tools, machinery equipment, instrumentation, controlling panels, electric tool, engineering facilities, heath device, medical appliances / devices, prosthesis, hearing aid, sports and fitness equipment, etc.
Toy Products
Health and fitness toys, infant toys, kindergarten toys, family toys, educational toys (i.e. card game or cribbage-board game), deco toys, meccano, musical toys, doll furniture/deco, dollhouse and the accessories、magnetic toys, wooden toys, paper toys, and vehicle and train toy, etc.
Services on Proposing Outstanding Products and Persons
2005 DONGGUAN CUP INTERNATIONAL INDUSTRIAL DESIGN COMPETITION successfully promoted lots of cooperation between the outstanding contestants and companies. The 2006 outstanding products show will still invite large-, middle- and small-sized enterprises in Dongguan for the visit. Meanwhile, there will be “counters for enterprises” during the show, bridging companies and contestants, realizing the commercialization of the outstanding designs, and providing chances for attracting talents to Dongguan enterprises.
